Practice and Philosophy
My practice reflects my philosophy of what constitutes deep healing. My intention with each patient is to guide the resolution of symptoms, as well as support the vital energy that is essential for a sense of wholeness and vitality. Discerning the root of any disorder or imbalance is as important as resolving symptoms. In that regard, I employ a wide range of approaches to assist the changing physical and energetic dynamics.
I am particularly drawn to plant medicines, and work with a wide variety of high quality and potency botanical medicines, custom formulating for each individual and phase of illness and healing, alongside a variety of other healing modalities, employing the powerful physical properties as well as the energetic spirit of each botanical. These gifts of nature are gentle, yet potent, and deep acting as they help open and access the foundations of issues and support movement and transformation of old patterns in the physical, emotional and spiritual realms. Each person is unique, and depending on constitution, the underlying imbalance, and current health concerns, I may also prescribe a variety of other approaches, including homeopathic medicines, dietary and nutritional approaches, and high vibration Plant, Tree, Flower and Light-based internal Essences. For conditions involving pain, inflammation or injury, alongside Internal Medicine approaches, I often utilize Biopuncture™, originating in Belgium, as fine injections of dilute high grade homeopathic formulas that stimulate a deep healing response.
Medicine has always impassioned me from the youngest age, and I initially attained a post-graduate degree in Physiotherapy, primary care Physical Medicine, from LaTrobe University in Melbourne, Australia in 1993 and then went on to complete a 2-year hospital residency at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. I worked for several years in private Physiotherapy clinics in Melbourne, Australia as well as in Greenwich, CT, and Seattle, WA.
My desire to broaden my ability to help people recover from illness and optimize their health led me beyond Physiotherapy to study Internal Medicine. Over two decades ago, I graduated from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington with a degree in Naturopathic Medicine and completed two years of family practice Medical Residency. Over the past 20 years I have served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Bastyr Center for Natural Health in a variety of clinical specialities, pioneered and co-managed the Bastyr Center for Natural Health Diabetes and Cardiovascular wellness clinic, a multidisciplinary, collaborative clinic working with medical students and colleagues of various health care traditions, overseeing patient care and research, and, I have worked for over 25 years in Seattle in private practice.
To this day, I continue to feel blessed with the mixture of life long scholarly pursuits in Medicine, Research and Teaching, collaboration with colleagues all over the globe, and feel deeply fortunate to work in cutting edge arenas of continual expansive and deeper understanding of health, well being, and individual Life Paths. Healing is completely individual, unique and multidimensional; it is a true honor to work with a wide variety of people to help resolve health issues, gently support transformative change, and help each person to become better able to reach and “remember” their potential.
